Shigella Outbreaks Reported In Floyd, Bartow, Gordon

ATLANTA -- Shigella has been diagnosed in Floyd, Bartow and Gordon Counties.

Shigella is an infectious intestinal disease that can cause fever, stomach cramps and diarrhea.

The CDC says the best way to prevent spreading shigella is frequent and careful hand-washing.
