Zach Klein's Column

Zach Klein's Random Thoughts from A to Z

" Citigroup, who will receive a 20 billion dollar bailout package from the government, announced they are letting go 52,000 workers, but has no plans to let go of their 400-million dollar sponsorship agreement with the New York Mets for “Citi Field”. Anyone else have a problem with this?

During his conference call with reporters on Wednesday, I informed LaDainian Tomlinson that the number one thing Michael Turner took away from him when he was with the Chargers was the fact he (Tomlinson) treated every game and every practice as it was his last. LT told me “That is very cool he said that. I always knew once he got his chance (to be a full time back) he would perform at the highest level.”

I-tunes download of the week…“Swagga Like Us” featuring Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and T.I.

Jason Elam, who is tied for 6th in the NFL in FG’s (22-24), told me he gets nervous before every kick. Does not make a difference it is for the win (like the Bears game) or in practice, his stomach still fills up with that nervous feeling. When it doesn’t he told me, the passion and competitiveness has gone away and it’s time to retire.

Loved the season ending episode to HBO’s “Entourage”, but Showtime’s “Californication” is the best show on television.

"Where will he land?” That was the headline on ESPN.com on Wednesday. The player they were talking about was NOT free agents like Manny Ramirez, C.C. Sabathia or K-Rod, but Lebron James. Why do I have a problem with this? Well…. King James does not become eligible for free agency until 2010!!!!! Something tells me we will have plenty of time to discuss this towards the end of 2010 season. What… has ESPN run out of Brett Favre story ideas?

Z likes Tech, for the first time in 8 years, to win the Governors Cup. If they do not turn the ball over.. I think they win it by 6. Not only will he finish with more yards the LT, his team will also win. Michael Turner and the Falcons win it by 2.

Agree.. Disagree?.. Reach out and say hi.. zach.klein@wsbtv.com
