Zach Klein

Thursday, July 17, 2008 – updated: 5:23 pm EDT July 18, 2008

Zach Klein comes to Atlanta from Cox sister station WFTV in Orlando where he was Sports Anchor for the 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. newscasts. He joined the Channel 9 Sports team in June of 2003 as the weekend anchor and weekday reporter.

Klein, a native of Chicago, fell in love with broadcasting in high school after realizing his only chance to make it in sports was to be on the other side of the microphone. He received his degree from the University of Kansas in 1996.

Klein’s first television journalism job was producing sports for WDAF in Kansas City. A year later, he finally talked the station into letting him report on high school, college and professional sports.

Next he joined KOKH-TV in Oklahoma City in June of 1999, where he was named the Sports Director. In addition to anchoring and reporting there, he was a regional and national sideline reporter for Fox Sports Net's coverage of Big 12 Football. Klein has covered nearly every major sporting event including the Daytona 500, the Masters, U.S. Open, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup Finals, Final Four, BCS National Championship Game and Rose, Orange and Sugar Bowls.

Klein and his wife, Renee, are proud parents of daughter, Cortney; son, Carter and golden Labrador, Gally.
