Jeff Dore
News Reporter
Jeff Dore has been a news reporter for WSB-TV Channel 2 since January 1984.The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has awarded him four Emmies for Excellence in News Writing. Among his assignments at Channel 2, he's traveled to the other side of the globe to report on the stirrings of liberty, capitalism and Christianity in the former Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan, has chased more hurricanes than he can count and reported live from two at their full force. Jeff began his broadcasting career in college at San Diego State University, where he was news director at the student rock and roll station, KCR. In 1976, he got his first paying job at the ABC affiliate in Bangor, Maine, (as he puts it, "the closest place to san diego that would hire me at the time") where he reported, shot, processed and edited film; wrote, produced, anchored newscasts; and then took out the trash afterwards. He produced, anchored and reported in Richmond, Va., and then became a reporter at the CBS affiliate in Nashville, Tenn. He also was the "On the Road" feature reporter. He moved to Atlanta with his wife Gail in 1984. They have two children. He is an elder in the Presbyterian Church and the author of an unpublished novel.You can email Jeff at jeff.dore@wsbtv.com
