Richard Elliot

News Reporter

Richard Elliot joined the Channel 2 Action News Team in July 1999.

Richard came to WSB-TV/Channel 2 from Greenville, S.C. where he was the bureau chief for WLOS-TV. Before that, Richard worked at WRBL-TV in Columbus, Ga. as managing editor, anchor, reporter and special projects producer. He covered the 1988 Republican and Democratic national conventions, the Gulf War, U.S. troops in Mogadishu, the 1996 Olympics and the Olympic Park bombing, among other major events.

Richard was born and raised in Atlanta and attended the University of Georgia. He has received numerous awards from the Associated Press as well as a regional Emmy nomination.

Richard lives in Fulton County with his wife Hollie. In his spare time he enjoys computer gaming, soccer and writing (the ever-elusive Great American Novel).
