Don McClellan

Don McClellanDon McClellan is the senior reporter for WSB-TV/Channel 2, and he's believed to be the "dean" of Atlanta's active television journalists.

He's a member of the select "Silver Circle" of the Atlanta Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Just this year, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters honored Don with its highest individual award: "Broadcaster of the Year" in recognition of a lifetime of achievement.

Don has an attic stacked with journalistic awards. Among those organizations that have honored him are RTNDA (Radio Television News Directors Association), Ohio State, and the major wire services.

His more than 40-year career with WSB includes almost every job in news, from management to reporting.

The East Tennesseee State University alumnus has been in the middle of the civil rights struggle, the war in Vietnam and weather extremes. He currently focuses on human-interest stories.

An avid runner, the veteran journalist has completed more than 100 marathons, and thousands of shorter races. The Marietta-based Chattahoochee Road Runners recently named Don its 'Runner of the Year'.

The newsman counts himself among those happy people who get paid for doing what they enjoy.
