JaQuitta Williams

News Reporter and Anchor

Wednesday, October 13, 2004 – updated: 11:35 am EDT August 13, 2008

JaQuitta Williams has been a reporter with WSB-TV/Channel 2 since 2004. You can catch JaQuitta on the Channel 2 Action News Saturday and Sunday newscasts at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

A native of Augusta, JaQuitta is a Southerner at heart. Her bubbly personality and southern charm have enabled her to quickly make friends wherever she goes.

She came to Atlanta after serving as a morning anchor and reporter at KSHB-TV/NBC Action News in Kansas City, Mo. While there, she hosted "Life Moments," a weekday program that featured inspirational stories about women and their families.

JaQuitta's career includes several big moments but one of the highlights was interviewing R&B singer James Brown. JaQuitta also was an opening act for James Brown during a concert to celebrate his birthday.

JaQuitta's second most memorable interview was when she traveled to New York in May to interview Robin Roberts with Good Morning America. Robin and JaQuitta were both diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2007. They had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation -- and both handled their battles very publicly. Now, they’re "breast" friends.

JaQuitta is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., along with the National Association of Black Journalists.
